Day 5 of 30

What a scorcher it was today. Into the garden me thinks.
Sunscreen suitably slapped on I serched for my suject. mmm... those geraniums look easy. HA!!!!!!
Any way I persevered. I think a little more planning would have been helpful. The area behind the pot was very dark and I painted it so. The result was that the leaves looked as if they were floating over the board, so I had to rethink that one. I suggested a few more leaves in the background to lighten it, better but still not quite there.
Conclusion - flowers are not my subject

6" x 4" oil on board $65

  2. I think you did a lovely job Mo, it was certainly pretty enough to draw me in from Leslie's blog to have a closer look! You should definitely do more flowers. You've captured the geranium's essence perfectly.

  3. The patterns and colors in the leaves drew me in as well. They are bold, and beautiful, and make an interesting painting!
