Day 10 of 30 Demo 4

I enjoyed running the three day workshop but today have had an awful lot to catch up with. Preparing frames was a priority as I have only a few free days to get ready for my exhibition at the end of the month. Not to mention the domestic side of things, The wash basket was overflowing for a start and I hadn't been to visit my dear ol' Dad for a few days, plus the cupboards and fridge were a tad on the empty side!!
I have to confess, I am pulling another painting from my workshop. i did this on the first day, it's the view from the garden. Quite stunning. I was demonstrating the use of the Zorn palette - Red, yellow, Black & White

Day 9 of 30 Demo 3

Last day of workshop today and am claiming yesterday demo as a pic for today

I have had the most amazing three days running a workshop for some lovely people. it wasn't so much a workshop, more of a house party. Today everyone painted a tonal still life's using Burnt Umber after my demo using the same.

 Then, before yet another amazing lunch everyone sat around drinking Prosecco while I did a painting of the lovely pine trees surrounding the property.

Not the best picture I have to say and would like to have another crack at it sometime.

All seemed to have a good time and I could definitely see a lot of progress that people had made. Down to me??? Maybe not, just the fact that they had had three days concentrating on painting oils (a first for some) but great for me to be there and hopefully aid their progress - I LOVE my job.

Day 8 of 30 Demo 2

Second day of workshop today. I did this demonstration using three colours and white. The idea was to not use green in the landscape.

Day 7 of 30 Demo

Quite a long day today. Up at 6.45 to give the dog a long walk as I was to be out all day. (trouble is, it wears me out too) Then off to near Grantham an hour's drive away. Lovely venue, lovely group and a splendid lunch laid on.  I did a couple of demos during the day so I am claiming one of them to be one of my daily paintings.

 I was pleased to find that Frank had prepared dinner for us when I got home at 7pm. The trouble is that Barney (the puppy) was not quite as tired as I was and needed another long walk (thank you Frank)
I have realised that it is a year ago today that I broke my ankle - I think the fact that I have been on my feet all day reminded me - Ouch!!

Day 6 of 30 Figs

Got into the studio with all good intentions, started to paint then got side tracked into framing and then The village show. To be honest I couldn't get excited about this painting at all. There are so many colours in a fig!! I found that, surprisingly, Viridian & Magenta with blue made a good mix.
Any way I finished it off half heartedly and prepared for my three day workshop next week.

Day 5 0f 30 Odd Mug

Can't even think where I bought this funny looking mug, I've had it for ages. I just love it's quirkiness and colours. I think it's Dutch, definitely hand thrown and painted. If it looks a funny shape - that's because it is - honest!!

Day 4 0f 30 'I've got the Blues'

I love painting my tubes of paint and as I was using these three in the painting, I decided to include them. The only trouble was, putting them back in the right place after I'd squeezed out more paint.

This is the last of the plums because I have now eaten them (just as I'd got the hang of painting them.)
