Plums, Hellebores and Muscari

Plums, Hellebores and Muscari 8" x 8" oil

This is about the last of the Hellebores and Muscari so I thought I'd better get another one in quickly. I must remember to start painting them earlier next year. They are so delightful to paint in fact I think I will plan ahead and plant more.

Blue Bowl & Fruit

Blue Bowl & Fruit 8" x 8" oil on canvas card

Another painting that I started at the Norfolk Creative Arts. I didn't get as far as putting a pattern on the bowl so found a bowl a similar size in the studio, set up to create the same light effect and finished it off. I have to say that the pattern has made all the difference as you can see from the original below.

Day 4 0f 30 'I've got the Blues'

I love painting my tubes of paint and as I was using these three in the painting, I decided to include them. The only trouble was, putting them back in the right place after I'd squeezed out more paint.

This is the last of the plums because I have now eaten them (just as I'd got the hang of painting them.)

Day 3 of 30

Cheating here as I have been out all day with our art society - here's one I did earlier!

Too Good to Resist 8" x 8" oil on board

I got home late with good intentions and set up a still life , started it, but after 30 mins had to pack up to get dinner. Hoping to crack on early tomorrow to finish it - too tired now

Day 2 of 30

I set this up yesterday not thinking that I'd have a chance to paint but managed to do it in between separating boisterous puppy and extremely boisterous five year old. Not the most relaxing painting experience!

I love this dish and have always meant to paint it, the plums were the perfect partner for it

Day 1 0f 30

Last January I took part in Leslie Saeta's 30 day painting challenge. Well she's at it again so I thought I'd join in as I got so much out of it last time.

To be honest I'm not sure I'll be able to complete the task as this September is a bit manic, I've got a three day workshop, an art trip to Grantham, a weekend workshop, four days of Brush with the Broads, an exhibition at the end of month which means finishing off pics, painting frames, labelling, sending out invitations and framing, a few days child minding and several appointments. oh and did I mention, I've got Tendinitis, I've torn a tendon in the rotor cuff of my right shoulder and lifting my arm is painful!!

That said I got up with the sparrows this morning and painted this

At least I started the month with a painting even I don't get to paint every day.
